Sorry for the delay in updating over the last few days. I’ve been in some parts of rural India where Internet access is pretty limited. There was dial-up access last night, but the connection was spotty and I wasn’t able to post.
All throughout the thing that was tied everything together and has stood out in my mind is the kindness and openness of the Indian people. Everyone wants to know where you’re from and to share a conversation. Especially in the small towns, I’ve really found that people appreciate the moment and try to make the most of what they have been given
Mumbai is a different world onto itself.
I also met some really cool Australian girls named Hazel and Denise (I hope those names are right, if I got them wrong I’m so sorry!) We ended up going to the Taj Mahal Hotel on Sunday night and having an incredible dinner at the Turkish restaurant on the 20th floor. The meal was delicious—I had a light Greek salad and pastry for desert. To top it all off, being a Turkish restaurant they offered a selection of Shisha to sample so we all shared a tasty apricot tobacco over espressos.
